Environment

Novell GroupWise 2014

Situation

Accepted iCAL appointment in GMAIL or Yahoo mail,
sent from a GMS 2.1 / GW2014 linked device, causes the appointment to be
deleted in the GroupWise sender user calendar.

When a Blackberry or iOS or Android device (linked to GMS 2.1 and GW2014), sends an appointment to a GMAIL.com or Yahoo Mail recipient
along with a GW user (sender) on the TO: line or CC: line.

And when the Gmail or Yahoo mail user then ACCEPTS the appointment the
resulting ACCEPTANCE iCAL message (from gmail or yahoo mail) that gets
processed by the GWIA and then the POA, causes the POA to delete the
appointment.  The appointment is purged , and does not go to the trash.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in GroupWise Cornell ( GroupWise 2014 R2 ) build 121094 or higher and in GroupWise 2014 SP2 FTF build
# 121095 or higher.  The fix is actually in the GroupWise Internet Agent (GWIA).

Cause

Improper algorithm  that checks for an iCal uid ( generated by the device ), was allowing an improper retract of the appointment.  This code algorithm was modified to allow for iCal appointments in which the iCal uid generated by the device, and would then not retract the appointment.
