admin no longer able to login after Vibe 4.0 upgrade

If the site administrator has granted the "Can Only See Members of Groups I am In" to the Guest user from under Site Administration > Access Control for Zone Administration; then after the Vibe 4.0 upgrade the admin user is no longer able to login. The following error is logged:
