Deleting a top-level mirrored folder should NOT delete the folder in backend filesystem

Environment

Novell Vibe 4.0

Situation

When deleting the top-level mirrored folder in Vibe, a warning is displayed that all data will be lost. Accepting the warning and continuing with the delete will delete the data in the backend filesystem (source data).

The delete option on the top-level mirrored folder should only delete the folder (metadata) from Vibe but not the data in the backend filesystem.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is available in the Vibe 4.0 Hot Patch 1, available via the Novell Patch Finder.

With the fix in place, deleting a top-level mirrored folder will only remove it from Vibe but leave the backend filesystem data (source data) intact.

Note: The delete operation on any sub-folders within the mirrored folder will continue to work the same way and will delete the data in the backend filesystem (source data).
