Novell Vibe Desktop client 2.0
Situation
The Vibe Desktop client may generate multiple conflicting copies of a
file on every subsequent sync if it detects the file has changed locally
IF the file in question is a zero-byte file.
Creating a zero-byte file is usually done by: Right click in Windows Explorer and Select 'New Document'.

Resolution
A fix for this issue is available in the Vibe Desktop 2.0 (June 1, 2015), available via the Novell Downloads.
With the fix in place, a zero-byte file will be detected and conflicting copies of the file will not be generated.
