GroupWise Admin Console overview shows a red x instead of a green circle next to the system agent

Environment

Novell GroupWise 2014

Situation

GWIA shows a red x
MTA shows a red x
PO shows a red x

Resolution

The issue is caused by not being able to load the http console for the agent.  To test, click on the problem agent | General | Launch MTA/POA/GWIA console.  If it doesn't load with an SSL error, then a new key pair needs to be generated

  1. Click on the problem agent (For MTA, make sure to find MTA, not domain settings, PO, use POA settings rather than post office)
  2. Click SSL Settings
  3. Click Generate Certificate and enter a password if desired
  4. Save the changes and check the Overview page
    Note: Sometimes the agent needs to be restarted in order to use the new certificate
