HTTP ERROR 500 installing iPrint Appliance 1.1 Patch 1

Environment

Novell iPrint Appliance 1.1

Situation

When attempting to install iPrint Appliance 1.1 Patch 1, the browser returns the following error:

HTTP ERROR 500
Problem accessing /vaconfig/fieldpatch. Reason:
Invocation of method [public abstract com.novell.admin.common.datamodel.beans.FieldPatchResult com.novell.admin.common.datamodel.service.....

Resolution

Install the field test file iPrint-1.1.0.410.FTF_20150527.zip, then install Patch 1.

Cause

This problem occurs if the 410 iPrint patch (not a prerequisite to Patch 1) was installed prior to installing Patch 1. The 410 iPrint patch was also called "iPrint Appliance 1.1 Security Update 2".

The above referenced field test file resolves that condition.
