SCOM User Account must have permissions to logon to the SCOM Machine from Remote Machines

Situation


Attempting to start a SCOM 2012 adapter with DOMAIN/USER credentials on a Remote Container produces the following errors in the Remote Container.trc:


ERROR Integration.scom.Microsoft(r) System Center Operations Manager 2012 SE303657.DefaultDataSource - Caught Exception getting all agent managed computers: (Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Core:0x80131500) The user {user name} does not have sufficient permission to perform the operation.

DEBUG Integration.scom.Microsoft(r) System Center Operations Manager 2012 SE303657.DefaultDataSource - Exception caught during wait. Trying to reconnect.

com.mosol.integration.scom.datasource.DataException: Unable to retrieve data from SCOM Sever. Check the connection.

Resolution

The SCOM user account must have AD entries which gives the user the permissions necessary to logon to the SCOM server from remote machines such as NOC Remote Container installations.

Cause

This error occurs when the SCOM administrator account does not have the appropriate permissions.
