Unable to load GroupWise Administration Console or Installer by double clicking icon on desktop

Novell GroupWise 2014

Situation

When double clicking the icon on the desktop nothing happens
Typing the command /opt/novell/groupwise/admin/gwadminconole-launch.sh shows "/usr/bin/zenity" but nothing else loads
Have to go to a web browser and type the address manually

Resolution

  1. Right-click the GroupWise Admin console icon on the desktop
  2. Change the Command to firefox https://IPaddressorDNSnameofGWserver:9710/gwadmin-console
  3. Click Close
  4. Right-click the GroupWise Install icon
  5. Change the Command to firefox https://IPaddressorDNSnameofGWserver:9710/gwadmin-console/install
  6. Click Close
  7. The icons should now work properly
