SLES 11 SP2 CIFS server on VM host slow file access

Virtual server running CIFS had normal file access times until it was moved to a different VM host.

After the move file copies from the CIFS server to a standalone workstation were fine but copies up to the CIFS server were slow.

Disabling the Large Receive Offload (LRO) setting in VMWare as discussed in the VMWare document below addressed the issue on the new VM host.  Speeds to and from the server returned to normal.
