Environment

Novell Client 2 SP3 for Windows
Open Enterprise Server 11

Situation

Suddenly, no user can login.

Error: Login Failed. Error code 0x800789FF

Novell Security Message
The system could not log you into the network. Make sure your name and connection information are correct, then type your password again.

Resolution

The problem may be resolved by one of the following:

1) Disable NMAS
Red N > Novell Client Properties > Advanced Login > NMAS Authentication = Off

Note: Either of the following actions will cause any currently logged-in users to be disconnected!

2) Restart eDirectory
rcndsd restart

3) Restart the server
init 6
or
shutdown -r now
