Situation
Upgrading a second primary server from 10.3.4 to 11.2.0 with MSSQL
on first primary.
In ZENworks_Upgrade.log Error: "Exception while determing first primary upgrade .."
In ZENworks_Upgrade.log Error: "Exception while connecting to database .."
In ZENworks_Upgrade.log Error: "Exception while determing first primary upgrade .."
In ZENworks_Upgrade.log Error: "Exception while connecting to database .."
Resolution
The primary servers zdm.xml file needs the <entry
key="Server">127.0.0.1</entry> to point to the DNS
name of the primary server hosting the database.
Change the address from loop-back address to the DNS name and restart the Novell Zenworks Server service.

Cause
The configuration web service will post the address from the
zdm.xml file for other services to use. If pointing to incorrect
address the installer in this case will be looking on the local
server for the database.
