ZESservice.exe crashes after installing ZCM 11.3.1

Environment

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.3

Situation

The service for ZESservice will not stay running on some machines after the zcm 11.3.1 install if Intel Rapid Store is used.
The ZCM agent is stuck in the locations listed in the startup location.
ZESM or FDE about will not load.
A ZESM or FDE policy will not apply.

Resolution

Workarounds include:
  • Disable / Uninstall the spoke for FDE from within the ZCC, Configuration, Zenworks Agent.
  • Change the BIOS from IRRT to AHCI.
  • Uninstall IRRT  Intel Rapid Store.

Cause

There are issue using 3rd party controllers.
