Environment

Novell GroupWise 2014
Novell GroupWise 2012
 

Situation

GroupWise Client host un-reachable
Groupwise 2012 HP2 - Error 8257 Host Not Reachable
WebAccess - error host not reachable

Resolution

  1. Verify the GroupWise Agents are running with rcgrpwise status command in the Linux command line.
  2. Verify the Linux firewall is disabled with rcSuSEfirewall2 status
  3. In Consoleone or the GroupWise WebAdmin (For GW 2014), verify that the correct IP address and (or) DNS name is configured for the External IP Address in the Network Address properties of the POA.
  4. If any of these need updated or edited make sure to do so and restart GroupWise with rcgrpwise restart
