Situation
During the installation of the Virtual Appliance (VA) the system is
configured with a certain 'Locale'.
Afterwards the VA is reconfigured via the Default Locale option of the Novell Filr Appliance Configuration in the Novell Filr Appliance Administration (port 9443).
This will change the 'locale' settings for new users.
The login page and the pages offered to create new external users are however also still offered in the previous 'locale'. The admin user, and the users that were already previously imported, as well as the users that had already previously logged in, will continue to use the original 'locale' the system was configured with initially.

Resolution
In order to change the 'locale' of the login page and the pages
offered to create external users, the 'locale' for the Guest
account needs to be adjusted so it matches the newly set 'Default
Locale'.
This can be achieved by following these steps :
This will make the change immediate, and the login page for the Novell Filr Web Client will be in the new 'locale'.
This is also valid for the invitation emails that are sent out to external users.
The same procedure can be used to change the 'locale' of the admin user, as well as for the users that previously already had initial 'locale' set or had already logged in.
This can be achieved by following these steps :
- Browse to the Web Client page of Filr and log in as admin.
- Via the admin user's drop-down menu open the Administration Console and select the User Accounts.
- Search for the Guest account, and open the User Properties via the drop-down menu next to the user.
- Open the Guest user's Profile and set the Locale to the same value as set for the VA. If the Time Zone was adjusted as well for the VA, it can be changed in this page too.
- Scroll down, and click the OK button to save the changes.
This will make the change immediate, and the login page for the Novell Filr Web Client will be in the new 'locale'.

Cause
During the initial configuration of the Filr Appliance, it creates
several default entities like the Admin and Guest accounts and
their workspace.
These are created in the default 'locale' that was chosen during the initial configuration of the VA. Once these entities are created their locale is set and are NOT changed afterwards based on modifications made to the 'Default Locale' in the VA config.
