Situation
Unable to authenticate to send SMTP messages from IMAP/POP client when the Primary server is Windows and the secondary server is SLES
Unable to authenticate to send SMTP messages from IMAP/POP client with users that are on secondary post office server
Can't send messages when using IMAP/POP client
Unable to authenticate to send SMTP messages from Outlook
Unable to authenticate to send SMTP messages from IMAP/POP client with users that are on secondary post office server

Resolution
- Launch Windows PowerShell from the primary Windows server
- Type New-ItemProperty -Path HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TCPIP6\Parameters -Name DisabledComponents -PropertyType DWord -Value 0xffffffff and press enter
- Reboot the Windows server
Cause
Windows is trying to use IPv6 instead of IPv4 which is what GroupWise is trying to use, so IPv6 needs to be disabled.
