Situation

Novell Dynamic File Services v2.1, When creating a Pair, Messages "The Primary path is not configured as a network share." is displayed.

Use Windows Network Sharing to setup a network share for the primary path.  User can map to the share to see a merged view of the files.





Resolution

This message is a warning to inform you that NDFS will not function correctly with out a Windows Share being defined on the Primary location selected. You may continue and create the pair. However, if you fail to create the Windows Share, the Merged View will not work correctly.


Cause

NDFS expects the Windows Share to be defined prior to creating the Pair.
