All external emails fail with error 550 Host Unknown

GWIA log shows the error 550 host unknown on every email that is sent out externally


A possible issue is that there is something improperly set in the /etc/resolve.conf

  1. In a terminal session, type cat /etc/resolve.conf and make sure everything looks proper
  2. If there is a problem, type yast2 lan to pull up the network configuration
  3. Navigate to the Hostname/DNS tab and update the name servers to the proper DNS settings
