Environment

Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack
Novell GroupWise Mobility Service

Situation

Unable to sync Work In Progress (WIP) folder from GroupWise to the device's local Drafts folder.
Unable to sync the device's local Drafts folder to the GroupWise Work In Progress folder.
Problems syncing the Work In Progress and Drafts folder.
Syncing from WIP to /Drafts works in Android, but not Apple iOS.

Resolution

At the time of writing this TID and according to Apple:

You can save draft messages in this folder, and edit and send them from the iOS device.

The Exchange ActiveSync protocol does not permit syncing drafts created on the iOS device back to the drafts folder on the Microsoft Exchange Server, nor does it allow syncing drafts created on a computer to the iOS device.

Note: Interestingly, it appears that new items saved on a computer in the GroupWise Client Work In Progress folder do get synced down to the device's /Drafts folder for Android only. However, new items in the /Drafts folder originating from the Android device don't sync with the GroupWise Client's Work In Progress folder.

Cause

This appears to be a device or Exchange ActiveSync protocol limitation (see below).

Additional Information

See iOS7: About the Drafts folder in Mail for Exchange Accounts.
Note: While Android devices appear to sync from Work-In-Progress to /Drafts on the device, iOS devices don't have this same functionality. Please see the above link for more details from Apple.
