If an adapter that has been linked  to a Service Model at the adapter level (NOT the Elements object level)  is exported from NOC, the resulting adapter XML has been found to be corrupt, making any import of this file useless.

The workaround for this issue is as follows:
1. Stop NOC
2. Start moscfg
3. Find the adapter under administration
4. There will be two entries for the adapter
5. One will be well formed with properties. The dname will start with
6. The bad one will start with "adapter" and will not have any properties
7. Remove the bad one
8. Quit out of moscfg
9. You should be able to export the adapter
If there is a strong need to have the adapter be linked to a service model at the adapter level (again, not linking the resulting Element object but the actual adapter under the Adapters branch), then the suggested method to perform the link is to us either an LDAP or regex matcher; do not select the adapter element manually.

The exported adapter xml becomes corrupted if the adapter being exported is currently linked at the adapter level to a service model.
