Situation
Many directories and files are located in the WebPublisher cache directory and seemingly are never cleaned up. This can lead to situations where the volume/disk run out of space.
Resolution
At this time, the only way to remove these files is by manually deleting them. This can be done either through batch file, script or cron job depending on which platform your WebPublisher server resides.
When a document is requested and the cache file does not exist, the file will be recreated.
This has been reported to development as a defect. Because GroupWise 8x is the last release where Webpublisher is included as part of the distribution, it is not likely that this issue will be addressed by development.
Cause
Files and directories here are meant to cache requests for documents in the WebPublisher system. This helps to reduce the amount of time and processor requests to convert files from their native format into their HTML equivalents.
