Situation
Folder redirection rules do not work
Cannot configure folder redirection
Group policies do not work if they contain folder redirection
Resolution
Group policies that deal with folder redirection will not work if the folders are set on any of the following:

Novell CIFS
-
Novell Samba
The folders must be set up on the Linux non Novell Samba server or a DSfW server for the folder redirection to work. The samba server must then be joined to the domain for a trust to be established.
Cause
CIFS or Novell Samba are not joined to the DSfW domain. Only samba servers joined to the domain, which allows the workstation to access the server, work or DSfW server in the domain.
