Situation
How to change the cgadmin password.
Forgot the cgadmin password.
Unable to login with the cgadmin password.
Resolution
Instructions for Change Guardian 4.0 and 4.0.1
If the existing cgadmin password is known, it can be changed from within the Policy Editor.
1.) Login to the Policy Editor.
2.) Select Settings from the menu above then select Change my Password.
3.) In the popup window specify the old and new password.
Instructions for Change Guardian 4.1 and later
1.) Login to the Change Guardian WebUI with the admin account and select the Users icon at the top of the screen.
2.) In the left hand column select the Change Guardian Administrator Role.
3.) In the middle column select the cgadmin user account.
4.) In the far right hand column select the edit link to edit the cgadmin user account.
5.) In the far right hand column specify the new cgadmin user account then type it again to confirm the password change.
Cause
The password for the cgadmin account has been lost or forgotten preventing the user from logging into Change Guardian with this account.
