Resolution
YaST | Software Repositories | Verify the SUSE-Linux-Enterprise-Server Repository is enabled and has an accessible URL. If the repository points to a cd or dvd url and this is a virtual machine, verify the CD/DVD drive is connected and points to the relevant Datastore ISO File. This can and should be checked via the VM Provider's Client, but can likewise be verified in the OS with the lsblk command. For example:
# lsblk
sr0 11:0 1 3.2G 0 /media/SLES-11-SP4-DVD-x86_6412211_
Note: When the URL is corrected, the installation will then successfully retrieve and install the package dependencies.
# lsblk
sr0 11:0 1 3.2G 0 /media/SLES-11-SP4-DVD-x86_6412211_
Note: When the URL is corrected, the installation will then successfully retrieve and install the package dependencies.
Cause
The installation is unable to retrieve the necessary packages from the enabled SLES repository.
