Environment

Novell GroupWise Mobility Service 2.0

Situation

When trying to add users to GMS from a specific post office, their User State goes to failed
ERROR:"
userID:cn=userid,ou=Emergency-Services,o=CGS] [eventID:] [objectID:] [Monitor] Initial sync request not sent for user: userid, not configured on default.pipeline1.groupwise"
in /var/log/datasync/mobility-agent.log

Resolution

  1. Launch ConsoleOne and go to Tools | GroupWise System Operations | Trusted Applications
  2. Select the GMS/Datasync Trusted Application and click Edit
  3. If there is an IP address entered in for the TCP/IP Address field, then click the pencil icon and delete the address

Cause

This issue can be caused by entering an IP address for the trusted application as this will cause your GMS/Datasync system to only work properly for the Post Office on this server's IP address.
