Situation
When there are multiple boot options in the firmware and the hard disk is not the first boot device in the boot options list, the target machine does not boot from hard disk and conversion hangs.
Resolution
In the boot options of the physical machine, change the boot order so that Hard Drive is the first option, then restart the machine:
1. Restart the target physical server and go to firware setup.
2. Verify the boot options section to ensure hard-disk is set to be selected as first option.
3. Save the settings and restart the physical machine.
4. The job continues and proceed to completion.
Cause
The root cause of this issue is when a boot order is set to another device other than the hard-disk that contains the operating system.
