Environment

NetIQ Access Manager 4.0
NetIQ Access Manager 4.0 Admin COnsole running on RHEL 6.4

Situation

NAM 4.0 Admin Console installed on RHEL 6.4 without any issues. After the install completed, the admin could not access iManager and it was noted that the key TCP listeners on TCP 8443 and 8444 were not active.

There are no such issues with SLES where NAM 4 runs fine even with IPv6 disabled.

Resolution

there are two options here:

a) Make sure that IPv6 is enabled on the AC. If IPv6 is disabled, the eDirectory configuration store will not start, impacting iManager listeners.
b) If Ipv6 must remain disabled, clear any IPv6 entries from the local host file. If there is a IPv6 entry, eDir tries to get some information from the IPv6 Interface, but fails because it is disabled.
