Environment

Novell GroupWise Coexistence Solution for Exchange
Novell GroupWise 2012 Support Pack 2

Situation

When you configure the GroupWise MTA object in ConsoleOne, Properties, GroupWise tab, Exchange Synchronization, there is a section at the bottom, "Optional Settings" where you can restrict which Exchange distribution list or Exchange distribution group users are synchronized to GroupWise.  If you type the Active Directory distinguished name in LDAP format of the Exchange distribution group, and if the name of the beginning CN object contains spaces, when you complete the configuration and OK back out to the main ConsoleOne screen and then come back to this same Exchange Synchronization configuration dialog you will notice that extra spaces have been placed in the CN name.  This will cause the synchronization with Exchange to fail.

Resolution

This was a bug in the GroupWise 2012 SP2 GroupWise snapins to ConsoleOne.  This is fixed in the latest GW2012 post SP2 GroupWise snapins from build # 114980 or above.
