Situation

eDirectory objectname with "." character will not allow successful authentication

A Universal Password policy is assigned to the user.  It does not matter if the policy is assigned on the partitions, container, or user.  Authentications will fail for this user.
Exmple of a user name: user.one
Will show in iManager as user.\one

Resolution

Apply November 2013 Maintenance Patch
