Situation

When a user editable field in a collection data form is auto-filled with an environment variable, it will not save the data that is entered when a user edits the field.

Additional Information

To reproduce this issue:
  1. Create an environment variable on a managed device. Computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Environment Variables > System Variables section > New > define variable name and value > OK

  2. Create a new Administrator Defined Field. In ZCC >  Configuration > Asset Inventory tab > Adminstrator-Defined Fields > Workstation > New. Name - <Name of field>, Data Type - Character, Size - 6, Edit Type - Edit, Edit Mask - leave default.

  3. Configure the Collection Data Form. ZCC > Inventory > Collection Data Form. Select Show in ZENworks Icon Menu, select Show Cancel button on form. For the ADF that was created in step 2 select the options for Display, Editable, Required, select Autofill yes and input the environment variable name from step 1, in the choice list select "Allow user created entries".
If "Allow user created entries" is selected, it will autofill the field with the environment variable. If "Allow user created entries" is used and the user edits the field, the environment variable is saved and not the user-supplied data.

It is expected that when the user enters the data that it will be saved and not overwritten by the default value.
