Situation
Multiple symptoms are possible when attempting to use the 5.92 iPrint Client on Windows 8.1.
Symptom 1: iPrint Client install hangs
Symptom 2: Devices and Printers becomes unresponsive when installing an iPrint printer.
Symptom 3: Attempting to install an iPrint printer results in the following error:

Symptom 3: Attempting to install an iPrint printer results in the following error:
Error:Unrecognized OS VersionSymptom 4: Attempting to upload a printer driver to the Drivers Store results in:
Major:6,Minor:3, assuming it as Windows 7
The iPrint client is not installed. Do you want to install it now?
Unsupported client type.
Resolution
Uninstall the 5.92 version of the iPrint client from the Windows workstation.
Install the 5.93 or later version of the iPrint Client.
Note: In some cases, the iPrint uninstall will not remove the 5.92 iPrint client. In those cases, manually remove the client by:
Stop the Windows Print Spooler
Run the cmd prompt as administrator
Press the WINDOWS and X keys
Click Command Prompt (Admin)
Click Yes to the User Account Control message
Type this command:
net stop spooler
Stop iprnt services
Press the following key combination:
Ctrl-Shift-Esc
Click the Startup tab
Highlight each iPrint related process, right-click, and choose Disable
It is possible there is only one process listed
Remove iPrint system files
Using Windows Explorer, remove the following files:
It is possible some of the files listed below do not exist. If so, skip to the next file.

Remove the C:\WINDOWS\system32\iprint and C:\WINDOWS\system32\iprnt directories
Start the Print Spooler
Within a cmd prompt (which was launched in administrator mode), type:
net start spooler
The Devices and Printers hang should be resolved. Install the newer version of the iPrint Client which supports Windows 8.1 (when that is available).
Install the 5.93 or later version of the iPrint Client.
Note: In some cases, the iPrint uninstall will not remove the 5.92 iPrint client. In those cases, manually remove the client by:
