Error: "The system cannot find the path specified."

Situation

After upgrading to Novell Client 2 SP3 for Windows (IR4), certain operations on a Novell mapped drive will result in the error "The system cannot find the path specified."

Examples include: 
  • Attempting to create a new project in Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 in a Novell mapped drive.
  • Attempting to save a file from a repository in Eclipse Subversive to a Novell mapped drive.
  • Attempting to create a repository in Eclipse TortoiseSVN to a Novell mapped drive.
  • Attempting to create a file using Git in a Novell mapped drive.
  • Attempting to browse a home directory with many, nested subdirectories.
    Most subdirs will be seen but some may not.  Further, trying to open a file with the full path (i.e. F:\Users\JSmith\Projects\SecretProject\2014\January\MyFile.EXT) will open fine even though the user cannot see the "Projects" directory in Windows Explorer.

Resolution

Fixed in Novell Client 2 SP3 for Windows (IR5) or later.
