Situation

Want Device Dynamic Rename (ZENworks Control Center (ZCC) > Configuration > Device Management > Registration) to work on Inventory Only Agents (IOA).

Device Dynamic Rename is working for the Managed Agents.

Resolution

Device Dynamic Rename is for Managed Agents. Device Dynamic Rename does not act on IOA devices. This is working as designed.

Additional Information

By design even if the IOA is renamed in ZCC, it will be overwritten (revert back initial name) by the wif processing (inventory scans) for IOA devices.
