Database files have been moved over to the new server
Sybase has been installed on the new server

The following error is seen when running novell-zenworks-configure -c Start :

The service is not started as indicated by running /etc/init.d/sybase-asa status :

Checking for Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere: dbsrv10 is stopped

Run the following commands to resolve the issue and verify it is resolved:

  1. rpm -Uvh /opt/novell/zenworks/install/downloads/rpm/sybase-asa-12.0.0-2624.i586.rpm
  2. /etc/init.d/sybase-asa start
  3. /etc/init.d/sybase-asa status

In this case, Sybase 10 was installed instead of the required Sybase 12
