Failed to map owner or ACL principal to Filr principal

Environment

Novell Filr 1.0.1

Situation

FAMT Resource driver converts the dots to commas in a user's FQDN so that they can be matched with what LDAP returns for that user's FQDN. However, in some cases this conversion is not done and Filr fails to map the user returned by FAMT to a Filr user (which was returned by LDAP).

Resolution

First, please make sure that the user or group that is failing to be mapped was created in Filr via the LDAP user/group import. If the user or group in question was never registered in Filr, adjusting your LDAP configuration and re-running the LDAP sync to create the users/groups will resolve this issue. However, if the user/group in question already exists in Filr, proceed to the fix below.

A fix for this issue is available in the Filr 1.0.1 Hot Patch 1, available via the Novell Patch Finder.

April 2014 Update: An additional update to the fix previously provided in Filr 1.0.1 Hot Patch 1 is available. Please contact Novell Technical Support with reference to this TID and request the patch.
