Situation

LDAP Server attribute 'ldapDerefAliasOnAuth' not found, adding new default
Failed to modify 3 entries on LDAP Server object 'CN=LDAP Server - eDir1\O=NOVELL' in UpgradeLDAPServerObject, err = no such attribute (-603)

Resolution

The version attribute on the LDAP Server object is reporting the wrong version.  Change the version the the current version of eDirectory.

Example:
With the error the version reported was 8.8 SP6.
For eDirectory 8.8.7 change to 8.8 SP7
