After restoring Windows 8 image on a UEFI-based device when using the ZENworks partition, the imaging function becomes disabled

Situation

If the ZENworks partition is used on a UEFI system, and a Windows 8 image is restored, after a reboot, Windows 8 boots, and from then onwards, it is not possible to get back to the ZENworks imaging environment at any time.

Resolution

Download the zip file at https://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=-TXyd_ulOak~ and follow the installation instructions in the readme. The vbs file must be run after each time the Windows 8 image is restored.

There will be duplicate entries in the boot table for "Windows Boot Manager", but this can be safely ignored.

Cause

When Windows 8 first boots, it changes the boot table so that it is the boot partition. This bypasses the ZENworks partition, so ZENworks imaging is not possible.
