“Authentication Failed” during authentication

Environment

NetIQ Advanced Authentication 4.8

Situation

When I try to authenticate in workstation an error appears.  ERROR: Authentication Failed. Press OK and try again.

Resolution

Please do the following:
  1. Logon using your password;
  2. Right click on NetIQClient tray icon, select Support;
  3. Go to the Servers tab;
  4. Ensure that everything is Okay with each of yours NetIQ Authenticore Servers;
  5. Ensure that you have all necessary NetIQ Authentication Providers installed on each server;
  6. Ensure that you have the same version of NetIQ Authenticore Servers and all necessary NetIQ Authentication Providers on all servers.
  7. Check that everything is Okay on the other workstations (with different OS versions)
  8. Check the firewall settings on your workstation and servers.
  9. Try to reset existing authenticators and re-enroll them.
  10. In case of using RFIDeas readers please download pcProxConfig util and on Advanced tab of it set option Enable quite mode for usage with the Software developer’s Kit.
