What causes GroupWise items to be deleted?

Situation

User reports missing emails or items from their Mailbox, GroupWise account.
Missing mail, calendar, task items from GroupWise Client.
GW Post Office Agent (POA) shows entry in log of deletions.
GroupWise items deleted, purged, or moved (moving) to trash

Resolution

The following are the possibilities for the cause of deletion:

  1. User deletion

  3. Cleanup with Nightly User Upkeep:
    Properties of POA
    | GroupWise Maintenance | Perform User Upkeep
    • Settings on user's GroupWise Client: Tools | Client Options | Environment | Cleanup
    • Settings on PO: Right-click PO | GroupWise Utilities | Client Options | Environment | Cleanup
  4. Custom Scheduled Events: Properties of POA | GroupWise Scheduled Events | Scheduled Event | Action Expire/Reduce Messages
  5. Third-party application(s) over the following protocols:
    • IMAP
    • POP
    • SOAP
