How to change the IP Address of Mobility Server

Resolution

As far as possible, IP Address of Mobility server should not be changed if there are users on the server. This is because Post Office has the IP Address Of Mobility Server registered in each user database and based on that it decides if the mail or contact or calendar has been sent to the Mobility Server. If the IP Address of Mobility Server is changed, the Post Office will register new IP Address in the user database. All new mails, contacts and calendars will work fine and will be sent to the new IP Address but if there were some old mails or contacts or calendar waiting to be reach the Mobility Server, it will still try to send it to the old IP Address and user will never receive it on the device

However if the IP Address really needs to be changed, then please follow the steps listed below to minimize the risk of missing emails. If this  is a brand new server and just has test users, skip steps 1-3.
  1. During off peak hours, disable logins on all the POAs (Post Office Properties | GroupWise | Client Access Settings | Disable Logins)
  2. Wait for few minutes and shut down the MTA's servicing these Post Offices
  3. Wait for few minutes
  4. Connect to the Mobility Server using a terminal session and edit  /etc/datasync/configengine/engines/default/pipelines/pipeline1/connectors/groupwise/connector.xml and change <ListeningLocation> tag to the new IP Address
  5. If there is a tag for <ExternallisteningLocation>, please change that too to the new IP Address
  6. Save the file
  7. Shut down DataSync by typing rcdatasync stop and press Enter
  8. Change the IP Address of the Mobility Server using YaST
  9. Restart the Server
