Smartcard-based single sign-on to Citrix XenApp server not working

Environment

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2.3 Authentication

Situation

Citrix XenApp 6.0 on Windows 2008 R2 server
Critix Receiver session with SmartCard based login

After a Citrix terminal session is established, a Microsoft login prompt to enter the SmartCard login PIN number appears.
The same also occurs on a Windows RDP terminal session.

Resolution

Remove the ZCM agent password provider related registry keys:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\Credential Providers\{692D4DB6-7E51-4370-A9AE-AE95848DBF1E}
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\Credential Provider Filters\{692D4DB6-7E51-4370-A9AE-AE95848DBF1E}


Cause

It has been not been determined that this issue is caused by the ZCM agent itself.

Additional Information

Disabling the ZCM Agent Credential Provider on the XenApp server as documented in Disabling the ZENworks Credential Provider does not change the login behavior.
