Browser hangs after Novell Service Desk upgrade process

During an upgrade, after entering the database details and attempting to click the save button, the browser just hangs.


If the upgrade hangs after clicking the save option on the database screen, check the tomcat configuration to see if the user is running the Java JRE instead of the required JDK on the server hosting Novell Service Desk.

To resolve this, install the latest JDK, ensure tomcat is pointing at the JDK installed, restart tomcat and then try again. ( Windows note: Should be looking at a file/folder similar to : 'C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll' )


The servers needs to be running the JDK and this error is indicative of this this issue.
