64 bit NSD virtual appliances crashing on Windows systems

Resolution

Load up the configuration file ending .vmx (eg. Novell Service DeskVA60_64.vmx inside the Novell Service DeskVA60_64.vmware folder) into a text editor and comment out (by prefixing with a #) or remove these lines:

serial0.present = 'TRUE'
serial0.fileType = 'thinprint'

Cause

The 64 bit virtual appliance causes VMWare Server to crash, because of configuration line(s) that conflict with the Windows machine.
