Setting up Novell Service Desk Problem Types

Situation

How to set up Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within Novell Service Desk - Item Category Problem Types

Resolution

NSD Webconsole > Configuration > Item Category > Problems. The problems defined within this tab, are used as the generic problem type categories for incidents logged using this Item Type Category. The Supervisor can define extra problem types for specific Item Types, within the Configuration > Types > Item Type > Problems tab.


To edit a category, highlight the relevant hyperlink and select "Edit." Amend the field text and "Save."

To create sub-categories, highlight the relevant problem type hyperlink and select "New." Click the "Plus" icon, highlight the new hyperlink, click "Edit" to change the problem type name and "Save."

To delete a problem type, highlight the relevant hyperlink and select "Delete." Click "Done" when the problem type categories are complete.

Additional Information

Novell Service Desk is installed with several default problem type categories, which can be edited if required.
