Situation
After applying the latest channel updates, unconfigured NIC cards cannot be configured via the YaST network utility without it crashing. The specific version of the YaST plugin exhibiting the problem is yast2-network 2.17.182.7-0.5.1

Resolved in yast2-network-2.17.182.8-9.2

Additional Information
OLD WORKAROUND: If the ifcfg file is created before entering into the
YaST plugin, the unconfigured card can now be configured. IE: touch
/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth1
Restarting the network has not been bringing up the interface, even
after it is configured (rcnetwork restart). Manually bringing up the
interface with ifup does work (ifup eth1)
