Environment

Novell Kanaka for Mac
Novell Open Enterprise Server 11 (OES 11) Linux Support Pack 1
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 3

Situation

While attempting to login to the OES server via the Kanaka client for MAC, the following error is encountered:
ERROR:  The client request to server (your server here:3089) contains bad syntax or cannot be fulfilled.  Result=400.

The Kanaka engine log reports the following:
HTTP: Invalid Signature on XML Message received from client address: client.ip.addr.here

Resolution

The version of the Kanaka client does not match that of the engine.  On the MAC client, with the Kanaka client open and selected, click the "Kanaka Client" link at the top of the screen and choose "About Kanaka Client."  The version reported should match the engine.  For example, if the 2.8 Kanaka engine is installed on the server, then the MAC must have the 2.8 version of the client installed and utilized.  If the MAC tries to authenticate with the 2.6 version of the client against the 2.8 version of the engine, this error may be encountered.
