Environment

Novell GroupWise 8 Support Pack 3
Novell GroupWise 2012 SP1

Situation

You send iCal appointment to an Internet recipient. He then accepts or declines your appointment and adds some text in comments. On your GWIA you will see coming his status message like in this example:

10:30:40 F37A MSG 83 Processing inbound message:
/media/nss/DATA/926811/wpgate/newgwia/receive/e9fe5215.000
10:30:40 F37A MSG 83 Sender: user1@bacardi.com
10:30:40 F37A MSG 83 Recipient: newuser.newuser@baileys.com
10:30:40 F37A  Successful login with client/server access: <IP:port>
10:30:49 F37A MSG 83 Queuing to MTA

However, on your POA this GWIA C/S activity invokes error:

10:30:40 EFD5 C/S Login Linux  ::GW Id=newuser :: <IP>
10:30:40 EFD5 Error: Attempt to do client/server actions with no access [D04F]
User:newuser  (newuser)

Resolution

This is a bug within GW803 HP1 and later code, and also GW2012 SP1.
Current workaround is to disable "Intruder detection" on GWIA -> POP3 protocol configuration.

Additional Information

Steps to duplicate:

1. In GWIA configuration POP3 / IMAP4 | Settings tab just enable Intruder detection option. You even do not need to enable POP3 protocol.

2. On PO settings GroupWise | C/S Settings "Enable Intruder Detection" is active by default but verify it.

3. Login into this PO any mailbox and compose new iCal appointment - can use as recipient also other GW system.

4. Internet recipient from other system accepts / declines the appointment with comments - type whatever text. It is important to type any text / comment.
