Situation

When performing a data sync action, following a data migration, error 0xfffdffb1,along with an internal TSA error was returned.

Resolution

The limitation was removed, and this problem has been confirmed to be resolved since the release of the November 2012 scheduled maintenance patches for OES11 and OES11 SP1 :

OES11 FCS : November 2012 Scheduled Maintenance for OES11 - 6996
OES11 SP1 : November 2012 Scheduled Maintenance for OES11SP1 - 6994

Cause

The problem was root caused to be the total number of modified files that needed to be synced was exceeding 65535, which caused the internal TSA error.

The following errors may be encountered during a file sync using the migration utilities:

ERROR - FILESYSTEM:migfiles:Error: smstool:NWSMTSScanDataSetBegin returned 0xfffdffb1
