Situation
On a NetWare server (for several versions now) the ability to utilize the mod_edir Apache module has made it possible for administrator to have decentralized home directories for users (home directories on multiple servers not necessarily with web servers on them, all NetWare) with a single web server providing access to each user's home directory's public_html directory. This enables user0 on serverA to have a home directory that shows up directly on (for example) www.novell.com/~user0 and user1 on serverB to have a URL of www.novell.com/~user1 . Administration of this type of environment is very simple as long as the 'public_html' directory exists, is readable by Apache, and the home directory is specified for the user properly in eDirectory. In OES2 / OES11 there is no ability to do this as simply as with NetWare.
