OES FTP: "remote_server yes" causes error, and failure for pure-ftpd AltLog

Administrators who have enabled one of the alternative forms of logging (AltLog) for pure-ftpd may see that upon uploading a file, the following error is logged in /var/log/messages:

 

Dec 11 00:49:00 server1 pure-ftpd: (admin@192.168.1.56) [ERROR] realpath() failure : [filepath/filename] => [No such file or directory]

 

Also, the alternative log (usually /var/log/pureftpd.log) might not record that the upload occurred (even though it was successful).

A code fix has been created.

 

For OES 2 SP3, update the pure-ftpd package to 1.0.22-0.30.1.  This is found in the SLES 10 SP4 update channel as of mid December 2012.

 

For OES 11 SP1, update the novell-oes-pure-ftpd package to 1.0.22-33.5.  This is found in the OES 11 SP1 update channel as of mid December 2012.
