Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack

Situation

Some Android Devices keep on requesting for password even though correct password is entered
Android Devices keep on requesting for passwords every now and then
Changing the case of the userid allows the Android Device to login
Android Devices authentication failure

Resolution

Please upgrade to Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2.5 or later. At the time of writing this TID, Mobility Pack 1.2.5 has not been publicly released

Please upgrade to Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2.4 and follow the steps listed below. Please DO NOT follow the steps listed below if Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2.5 has been installed.
  1. Type "cat /opt/novell/datasync/version" and press Enter to confirm that the output is 1.2.4.966.
  2. Shut down DataSync by typing "rcdatasync stop" and press Enter.
  3. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device and rename DeviceInterface.pyc to DeviceInterface.orig.
  4. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib and rename mobility_util.pyc to mobility_util.orig.
  5. Download and extract the following file
    ftp://ftp.novell.com/outgoing/778726.tgz
  6. Copy the extracted DeviceInterface.pyc to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device.
  7. Copy the extracted mobility_util.pyc to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib.
  8. Start DataSync by typing "rcdatasync start" and press Enter.
